Working in a creative or artistic field requires a tough skin, and the music industry is no exception and especially for the upcoming artists. It’s so unfortunate, they experience quite number of setbacks.

We like to sweep all these things under the carpet and assume success is forth. The core trick is mastery of how to deal with disappointment and continuing to move toward your goals, without getting sidetracked.

Meet Salmadra Jay , a South Sudanese upcoming and a promising Hip-Hop artist, is a living testimony that success doesn’t come in a silver platter. Although, Salmadra is a multi-talented power house: a dancer, a song writer and a hip-hop artist, scaling at the top of his game has not come without a cost.
“As an independent artist, things have not been all that easy” notes Salmadra Jay. He confesses that at some point he just felt like calling it quits. He has performed in various shows and social functions, but attracting potential fans isn’t with such a great ease.
Jay recalls vividly, a music audition he attended, but the judges failed to discover his talent. At his tender age then, he felt nervous to appeal for his re-consideration. He admits that the judges were very much biased.
Salmadra Jay notes that building a genuine social media following is a trick. This has a negative impact in the sense that marketing his stage name and talent is not easy.
Inspired by Wiz Khalif, Salmadra Jay has proved to be a firecracker with an undeniable presence. This is following his informed idea of forming a music crew- KILA MUSIC GROUP. The crew has produced a stunning hit; Juba Gyal. The song has received a welcoming mass love and it’s becoming the love anthem in Juba city.
