5 civilians sentenced to jail over elopment case in Twic State.

A High Court in Turalei County have sentenced 5 civilians to jail for elopment and rape in Twic State this week in the September incident in Majak Pagai, Pannyok county.

One of them was sentenced to a 5 years jail term for committing rape, while the four have been sent to prison for a period ranging from two to three years.

“A source in the High Court who asked to remain anomity said, early in September a man mobilized his friends to eloped a girl for him and his friends hold the girl’s hands and the man raped her”, he said.

“The man has been sentenced to a five year jail term, fined with 40,000 SSP and will pay five cow’ to the family of the girl.

While his four friends have been sentenced to prison for 2 years and 30,000 SSP each”, the source explained. They were eight in number but three of them escaped and they are still at large but being search with warrant of arrests. He added”.

They are accused of forceful elopment and rape. High Court Judge Bol Ayuel presided over the ruling. This is the first of it kind for such incident.
