The European Union and UNWFP has officially handed over the complete Kwajock Bridge to South Sudan Government.



The United Nations World Food Programme and the European Union have officially handed over the completed Kwacjok Bridge to the Government of South Sudan.

The 120-metre long structure, built at a total cost of $6.5 million, links Lunyaker, Kwacjok and Kangi regions which have for long been separated by the Jur River.

In his remarks, Gogrial governor Victor Atem Atem said the bridge will cut travel time between Gogrial and Wau from four hours to just one and a half hours.

Rebecca Okwaci, Minister of Roads and Bridges described it as an investment in various sectors including education, agriculture, health, transport and tourism.

The construction has been undertaken in phases since January 2018.
