Juba City Council has distanced itself from new parking fees introduced for Juba motorists.
The City Legislative Council however accuses “Capital Holding Company limited” the company contracted to collect the money – of engaging in an illegal activity and said this does not represent the position of the Council.
Chairperson of the City Council Legislative Assembly, Peter Loro says the move by few individuals acting in the name of the city council, is illegal.
In an interview with Radio Miraya on Tuesday, the former Deputy Mayor of Juba City Council for Physical Infrastructure and Development Thiik Thiik Mayardit said motorists would be charged 100 south sudanese pounds per hour for city parking, to generate local revenue.
