In a statement this afternoon, the Japanese government said the reports are not true and that it was very bad for a presidential office to spread information which are not tue.

“The Embassy of Japan in the Republic of South Sudan strongly denies the announcement made by the Press Secretary in the President Office yesterday concerning the donation of virus prevention cards from the Prime Minister Abe to the President Kiir and other Ministers,” the statement seen by South Sudan News Now (SSNN) partly read.

“There is no fact that the Government of Japan has donated such cards to the leadership of the Government of South Sudan and we regret that the Office of the President made public announcement of such wrong information,” the statement added.
